Operation MENTOR was created in 1997 to help
increase the well being of the children at Barbara Bush
Elementary.  The idea was to create a mentoring
program where people could come and volunteer their time, all the while making a difference in our 
children’s lives. Countless hours were given to this program by parents, community members, Gail
Mancuso, the South Grand Prairie Student Empowerment Team, and the teachers and staff  at Barbara Bush.  When I came to Sam Houston last year I was excited to bring Operation MENTOR with me to benefit the students here. We hope you will consider joining us.  We promise you will be glad you did!!!!
