Who couldn't love those furry little friends! We have several mammal friends that keep us all laughing AND learning!
BIG LARRY Our guinea pig was given to us because its owner could not take him to college with him. Big Larry is a vegetarian. He has special food that is bought at the grocery store. He loves Timothy Hay and carrots. Big Larry is friendly and we love having him here at Houston Elementary. |

A LITTLE ABOUT OUR HAMSTER |
BEANS We also have two hamsters that a student brought to us. One is a classroom pet and the other is kept in the Science Home for everyone to take care of! His name is Jelly Beans. Hamsters are nocturnal, but he will entertain the students during the day by spinning on his wheel or traveling around in a sphere! |
