Sam Houston Elementary is a diverse campus that offers exceptional education every day! Sam Houston Elementary students, parents, and staff embrace their multicultural diversity. According to the 2006 Texas Education Agency’s Academic Excellence Indicator System our ethnic distribution is as follows: African-American -28.5%, Hispanic -61.7%, White -9.2%, and Native-American -.4%. We have many students who qualify for the free and reduced lunch program – 90%, as well as having 62.2% of our students At-Risk. The mobility rate is 31.8% and 37.4% of our students are Limited English Proficient.

Our students come from a wide variety of cultural and academic experiences. It is our focus to accelerate each child and provide a structured, safe and nurturing environment for academic growth.
